Crunchy Air Fryer Chickpeas (Crispy Air Fryer Chickpeas) is a tasty and healthy treat that has such a satisfying texture for snacking. You can whip up a large batch and take them along with you, whether it’s work or a long car ride. They don’t go bad quickly which is nice since fresh produce (which is my go-to snack) usually does.
If you’re anything like me, you need a snack or two in order to get through the day without being ravenous. Often times, this urge for a snack leads me to some sugary places that I truly don’t want to be. Thankfully, I came up with these Crunchy Air Fryer Chickpeas which have saved me from myself more times than I can count. They’re also great to top things like salads and Buddha bowls!
What I like about this recipe is this can be done in an air fryer which means you can skip that baking sheet and this can be done in less than 30 minutes. In case you are new to air frying, I have some air fryer recipes, including Kung Pao Chicken Wings and Low-Carb Doughnuts.
So these crunchy roasted chickpeas are so quick and easy. All you need is good olive oil, sea salt, some herbs, and combined them in a large bowl. And oh, I like layering an aluminum foil before pouring chickpeas into an air fryer basket to keep it an easy cleanup.
Are Crunchy Air Fryer Chickpeas Vegan?
Yes! Be careful to look at your canned chickpeas. I always like to get organic and ensure there are no added unnecessary ingredients in my chickpeas. You just never know with some items you buy these days. Not only are they vegan but, they’re gluten-free, soy-free, dairy-free, and egg-free, making them a super allergy-friendly snack across the board.
Are These Chickpeas Weight Watchers Friendly?
Following the basic guidelines for Weight Watchers, yes, these Crunchy Air Fryer Chickpeas are safe! This snack should be safe and allowed on most diets. Of course, always check the parameters of your lifestyle first before digging in. However, in general, this is an all-around healthy snack that just about anyone will enjoy no matter the healthy lifestyle route they choose.
Let me tell you, Crunchy Air Fryer Chickpeas are addicting and have quickly turned into my favorite snack. I’ve replaced popcorn with them which might sound crazy until you try them for yourself. Then you’ll understand why the swap out was so easy. Plus, they’re so easy to make so, why not?? Enjoy!
Crunchy Air Fryer Chickpeas
Ingredients
- 15 oz. can chickpeas
- 1 teaspoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- ½ teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon dried parsley
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon ground black pepper
Instructions
- Heat the air fryer to 390℉.
- Rinse chickpeas with water and drain thoroughly.
- Transfer the chickpeas to a mixing bowl and add oil and salt. Mix well to combine. Add the rest of the ingredients, then mix gently until combined and distributed evenly.
- Add to the air fryer basket and cook for 12-15 minutes. Shake every 5 minutes or so. Serve and enjoy!
